The historic Mari Jean Hotel in the heart of St. Petersburg's Grand Central District on Central Avenue completed an extensive renovation to all Guest rooms and public spaces, reopening its doors on June 20, 2023. Front Desk Hosts manage Guest reservations, special requests, and room inventory; communicate with pre-arrival Guests seeking to optimize their vacation experience; graciously greet, check-in and checkout Hotel Guests; gather and secure personally identifiable information; process secure charges and payments; assist with luggage; professionally and knowledgeably answer the phone, following up to completion on all requests; take new arrivals to their rooms to familiarize them with the features of their room; sell available rooms to walk-in Guests and by phone; and other duties assigned by leadership as necessary. 

A willingness to make eye contact and smile while providing top-notch Guest service must be woven into your DNA.

Shifts can begin as early as 7:30 AM while others can end as late as 4:00 AM depending on the day of the week and our occupancy levels.

Housekeeping Hosts are skilled in a wide range of housekeeping functions with responsibility for maintaining the renowned appearance and cleanliness of our Hotel. 

We are empowered to move about our work space and do what needs to be done. Whether delivering Guest requests, stocking housekeeping carts, cleaning Guest rooms and public spaces, retrieving and stocking linen, or other similar responsibilities assigned by leadership as necessary, our Housekeeping Hosts insure the spaces in our Hotel help create memorable Guest experiences. Cleaning and keeping things clean must be a vital part of who you are.

Interacting with our Hotel Guests is an important part of our daily tasks and is often reflected in the volumes of Guest reviews we receive each week. Great Guest reviews inspired by the work of our amazing Staff members are what brings Guests back and enables them to refer with confidence others who are also looking for an incredible experience.

Shifts can begin as early as 6:30 AM while others can end as late as 5:00 PM.

General Qualifications

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with requirements set by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT).

• Demonstrated ability to follow all safety, fire, emergency, and security procedures
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality service, taking a welcoming, hands-on approach to work
• Demonstrated respect for all individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, or gender identity
• Collaborative work style where the shared goal is for everyone to succeed
• Full availability, including days, nights, weekends, holidays such as Halloween and New Year's Eve, and during special events such as Summer Pride in June, and Winter Pride in February
• Willingness to work a shift of 8 hours or 10 hours and overtime as operationally needed
• Provide valid, government-issued proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Dependable transportation to/from our Hotel
• Ability to stand, bend, and move about for a full shift; safely move or lift up to 50 pounds; clearly communicate in English (bi/multi-lingual skills are a plus)
• Knowledgable in the local community and surrounding St. Petersburg area
• For Hotel roles, experience working in a boutique-size, full-service hotel or larger with focused attention to detail and computer skills

Starting Pay: Varies per role per hour based on experience and role description ($13.00 per hour during training)
 

Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED
