The historic Mari Jean Hotel in the heart of St Petersburg's Grand Central District on Central Avenue just completed an extensive renovation to all Guest rooms and public spaces. This premier gay adults-only resort offers accommodations featuring king, queen, or full beds, private baths, along modern amenities and conveniences today’s distinctive gay men want! 

Do you have loads of experience working at the Front Desk and/or in Housekeeping? Do you have an outgoing personality that makes it hard for you to blush easily? We want to meet you to learn why you want to carry on the legendary service once provided by the famed Mari Jean herself. 

Front Desk Hosts will review arrivals, special requests, and assign rooms; contact pre-arrival Guests to reconfirm travel plans; graciously greet, check-in/out hotel Guests; gather and secure personally identifiable information; process secure charges and payments; assist with Guest luggage; professionally and knowledgeably answer the phone, following up to completion on all requests; monitor room availability and sell available rooms to walk-in Guests and by phone; and other duties assigned by leadership as necessary (especially during the hotel’s opening phase).

Housekeeping Hosts are skilled in a wide range of housekeeping functions with responsibility for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the whole hotel. They are empowered to move about their space and do what needs to be done. Whether delivering guest requests, stocking carts, cleaning Guest rooms and public spaces, or other similar responsibilities assigned by leadership as necessary (especially during the hotel’s opening phase), our Housekeeping Hosts insure the spaces in the hotel help create a memorable Guest experience. 

No matter the position, a few things are critical to success – ensuring a safe work place, following company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, upholding quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. 

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a boutique-size, full-service hotel or larger
• Focused attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to follow all safety, fire, emergency, and security procedures
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality service, taking a welcoming, hands-on approach to work
• Demonstrated respect for all individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability
• Full availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to work a shift of 8 hours or 10 hours and overtime as operationally needed
• Provide valid, government-issued proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Dependable transportation to/from the hotel
• Ability to stand, bend, and move about for a full shift; move or lift up to 50 pounds; clearly communicate in English (bi/multi-lingual skills are a plus)
• Knowledgable in the local community and surrounding St. Petersburg area

Starting Pay: $16.00 per hour; $18.00 per hour for shifts beginning at or after 11:00 PM.

 

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
